Schwerin Zoo: Successful crowdfunding with WEMAG

This is how modern promotion with impact works.

In the middle of the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a place of encounter, movement and education has been created - thanks to a strong cooperation between Schwerin Zoo, WEMAG and FAIRPLAID Crowdfunding.

Over 100,000 euros were raised to build a new, modern adventure playground at the zoo - for children, families and the whole region.

A place for the community

The new playground is being built in the heart of the zoo, directly on the festival meadow between the farm and the meerkats. In future, children will be able to climb, observe, discover and learn in several play areas - embedded in the animal world and with plenty of space for playing together. Parents are also well catered for: the area can be easily viewed from the nearby farmyard bar - including a refreshment break with a view.

Why the project is a prime example

With this project, WEMAG shows how municipal companies can provide meaningful support - close to the people, visible on site and effective in the long term. The combination of traditional sponsoring and digital crowdfunding not only financed a major project, but also created participation and identification among the population.

Our conclusion: It's about more than money

Crowdfunding with FAIRPLAID and local partners gets projects rolling - but even more important is the signal behind it: We create together. As a technology partner, we are delighted that the WEMAG Crowd platform has once again been able to show how local infrastructure projects, commitment and modern financing logic can work together.
